Armed robbers have stormed a luxury hotel in central Berlin where a poker tournament was taking place, German police say.
One report said the gang - armed with assault rifles and hand grenades - made off with the tournament jackpot of 800,000 euros ($1.1m; £726,000).
Several people were injured in the ensuing panic, although none of them seriously.
About 1,000 poker players are taking part in the five-day tournament.
"Several masked, armed individuals entered the Grand Hyatt Hotel and fled with a haul of money," police spokeswoman Heidi Vogt said.
She declined to say how much had been taken but Berlin's Tageszeitung newspaper reported on its website that the gang had taken 800,000 euros.

Taken from the pokerstars blog;
The European Poker Tour has released a new statement ...some of the misreporting of the incident in the media...
...armed robbery took place at the European Poker Tour (EPT) event in Berlin. Nobody was seriously injured. Four armed men were involved in the robbery which targeted the tournament registration desk outside the tournament area.
No shots were fired and the suspects quickly fled ...no Kalashnikov assault rifles or hand grenades were used. The suspects did not enter the tournament area and the money taken was substantially less than what has been reported...
I wondered where Mura has been lately. _________________

Does the EPT show off a big pile of cash at the final table like the WPT does? Even if that's so, it wasn't the last day anyway, so I'd tend to think there wasn't a huge amount of money out to be taken. I'd guess most was in a vault, either the hotel's or the tournaments's.
Still scary that the tournament was robbed though _________________
