Just get to the final table... Second hand UTG I get KK, I raise to 4k from 1k bb. everyone folds around to donk man who pushes all in. He had me covered. About another 3k to me. I call with glee.. He has 77. He hits a crazy gutshot runner and i'm out. I hate when it costs me money. So i go out 10th and one player had like 500 in chips. Could I folded preflop??? Or to the reraise getting 4:1 on my money? _________________

You know ..... I have asked myself this questions a million times before on the bubble. I use to play really tight during this phase of a tourney. But you know what? It always comes down to me defending AA or KK ....... It sucks I know But I always tell my self I made the right move.
A few times I have considered slow play by just calling the min. If nothing hits after the flop, then push all in ..... but even then I find it difficult to not pre flop raise with AA or KK.
I guess what I am saying is that I have looked at it from all different sides of the coin, and I don't think I could ever fold AA or KK on the bubble
Sorry bout that tru ...... it is miserable to say the least _________________ One Deal At A Time!

I think most people have this problem, you often find that if 30 places are paid then when it gets to about 35 players left the game tightens up a lot.
I would only ever consider folding AA or KK if there were 11 players left and the top 10 qualified for a larger tournament and I had plenty of chips. |

i would consider laying down any hand other than AA or KK on a 2 way all-in, when i'm one of the money. i believe that you must play these hands and trust the odds. if i look like i'll reach the money and it's a 3 or 4 way call, then i would probably be prepared to fold.
you were very, very unlucky truu, but it was the right move ! |

| I had KK the other day with 3 people left, myself included and i raise twice the big blind and this guy calls. flop come 5 6 2 off so i go all in and he calls with 6 7 offsuit. turn is an 8 and the river is a 9 and he wins with a st8. |

well there is nothing you can do there. 77 vs 1 player is an acceptable all in. I mean he could easerly put you on AK,AQ, mabye even AJs.
But you were obliged to call. (Expept if you think he had AA.. ) _________________ You only win if you know how to fold... |
