The Comeback KidI`ve been getting a little frustrated with my HORSE game. Especially the MLP games where I can`t seem to get a decent result. So last night I was looking for a game and thought I might play an 8 game sng on Stars before going over to Full Tilt for a few hours of ring game play.
As Stars open I spot a $3 HORSE tourney just about to start and on impulse I reg for it. Played for a couple of hours and finished 30-something to just about double my money.
As I log off the table I spot a $1 stud8b tourney about to start and jump into that.
Well I`m playing and not really getting anywhere, just treading water as it were. Time goes on and a couple of hours pass and I pick up a couple of decent hands and all of a sudden we`re in the money.
Then I get a run of bad cards and my medium stack starts to become very short. However people are dropping out and eventually by some miracle I find myself at the final table. 320 players started meaning there were 480,000 chips on the table and I had about 6,000 of them. Antes and bring ins are huge and I`m basically hanging on for hands where I can gamble to try and make a place or two on the payouts.
Well I find a couple of hands and after a couple of desperate all-ins I actually mange to build a stack and people are still dropping. Before I really know it we`re down to 5, then 4, then 3 and then I`m HU
Took the chip lead and never looked back.
Final hand was pretty horrific. I had 2 pair on 5th and had been betting out. My opponenet kept calling and on 6th he checkraised me for his last few chips and I knew he`d made a flush. I ahd no low hand but it was such a small amount to call given the size of the pot that I called and spiked a 3 outer to give me a boat on 7th street and win the tourney outright.
I`m really stoked about the win for 2 reasons. Firstly I was horribly short-stacked and managed to remain patient and pick my moments well and make an amazing comeback to win. Secondly I can`t remember beating a bigger field. I tend to play games with around 100 entrants so this was a huge field by comparison.
Oh yeah and almost 60-1 on my investment isn`t bad either

WTG DM .... very nice comeback. ---- I think Horse, omaha h/l and stud h/l are typically games that can change rapidly! --- WELL DONE. keep it up.
