i think that particular $20 game is on every night at about 22:30 CET although they have others throughout the day. basically, they have a huge amount of tourneys at all levels, pretty much all the time. In other words, what ever you want, they'll have, although you may not find the really good guarantees or overlays that we find on smaller sites. i really like their regular HORSE tourneys even though most of the players seem to have a lot more money than sense - i used to play at the $15 buy-in level which usually had about 200 players in each game. obviously their bonus offers are not amazing due to it's size but you really can't knock a site that's got it all. definately worth trying if you don't have it as i'm sure many here would agree. |

I've played a few freerolls at PS but never deposited any cash there
If i did would you say (because of the numbers that are online at all times) S&Gs would be the best way to try and buid a BR and if so what sort of levels would you say are the easiest to beat |

i've played from the $2 to (at one point pre-forum days) regular $33 level buyins and to be honest, there was very little diffence in the standard. although i made some decent cashes in tournaments, i always found 10 - 20 player SNG's were the best for me. i would suggest if you go that route, start at the $5 - $10 level and go from there although lower is ok if you can't afford the possible loss. brian has always done very well at the $20 MTT level although you'll need a good 4 hours to beat that crowd. i'm not a big cash player online so i can't comment so much on how PStars rates for this. at the end of the day it really depends on which type of game you feel most comfortable with. PStars is a funny one, as for me, i've suffered so many beats there, i got tired of it but i know many who would say the complete opposite - it does seem to divide the masses somewhat. |

Sngs were pretty much all I`d played on there until recently. Just the $1-3 range and mostly 5 card draw, 2-7 triple draw and the new 8 games. Competition isn`t that tough at those levels but they`re not exactly standard games of choice. Having said that they fill up very quickly.
Played a few tournies recently, same buy-in range and mostly limit games. Have found them pretty soft to cash in but they`re long games with fields over 250 usually. |

For anyone with a small bankroll that`s looking for a way to increase it with minimal risk. You might want to try the Double Or Nothing SnGs at Stars.
I`ve just tried one to see how they play. I chose the $1 PL Om. The game lasted about 40 mins and one of the players who cashed didn`t play a single hand (sat out from the beginning). If you are going to try them just remember there`s no reason to try and accumulate a huge chip stack. If you can accumulate an extra 1,000 or so chips you`ll probably cruise into the money. There`s no reason to be the table sherrif and try and take anyone out. Once you have a reasonable stack sit back and fold anything but the best hands and your blinds and it`s easy money. I`m guessing they`ll be a little harder as the buy-in increases but a solid TAG style should see you cash in these more often than not imo. |

The Double up games are a buzz topic lately, and almost all sites get this double up sits.
I play some games of this, and is easy to cash, the problem is that in a long term, is way less profit that in SNGs and more risky. In Sits you need to win 33 of 100 games to get profit (1 of 3) In this double up, you need to win 66 of a 100 to get profit, (2 of 3) so if you win 5 of 9 you are losing, if win 6 of 9 are winning the minim, because have to invest a lot to a minim profit. in $1 buy-in double up, if you play 9 games, are a invest of $9+fee, if cash in 6 of that 9, you got (6x$2)= $12, $12 of winnings, but you invest $9+fee, so ended winning $2.65 of profit (more or less), and you have to cash in 6 of 9 games, and invest $9+fees If you play 9 games of sits of $1buy-in, and you win 3 of that 9, you get about the same $12. Besides that, the double up is not like real poker, because as like you said, you only have to sit out and wait to someone get sucked up. But well, any can tested by himself, but don't get flashy because is a new game and you can cash in the first tries, maybe if you can cash in 9 of 9 or 8 of 9 games in double up, can be some real profit, but i dont call that minim risk. If think that the 9 people sits are way harder to cash, try the 6 people sits, are easy to cash, and in long term more profit that the 9 people or the double up. If you think for the side of the poker sites, the double ups come to life, because with this games you pay almost the same rake to the sites that with normal sits, but getting less profits, and that is bussines for sites. Think about it. |

PokerStars has shocked the poker community many times over this past year with some incredible tournament fields and some impressive prize pools, most notably with its $11 buy-in events. Last Sunday, its Sunday Two Hundred Grand tournament featured 25,000 entrants, with $25,000 going to the overall winner. Not bad for an $11 investment. But on Sunday, Dec. 28, at 3:30 p.m. ET, the site plans on out-doing itself in record fashion. PokerStars will offer a $500,000 guarantee for an $11 tournament. It is touting that it will be the biggest cash tournament of all time in terms of field size — an argument that no one can sensibly argue with — and the site has contacted the good people at Guinness so that the achievement makes the Guinness Book of World Records. The site has capped the number of entrants it will accept for this tournament at 35,000, so even if it reaches maximum capacity, it will still add $150,000 to the prize pool to make the guarantee. As of Dec. 17, more than a week and a half before the event, nearly 4,000 players have already registered. Although they are calling it an “attempt” at the world record, it seems difficult to imagine the tournament will not approach its capacity based on the site’s previous success and all of the added money. The tournament will have 10-minute levels, with 10 players per table. Each player will start out with 3,000 in chips. The overall winner is expected to get $30,000, while the top 8,750 players will make the money. The event can be found under the “Special” tab of the “Tourney” section at PokerStars. |

I registered long after it was full. I just waited for someone to un-register, then managed to jump in after about 10 tries. They have you click a thing that says you agree to something or other ... then you have to click the box to apply the money. If one waits until one has the box where you check to apply the money for the registration and then don't click until the registration number drops under 35,000. (I found that if you scroll down the list of names........the name list will move just before the registration button comes up) ---- Anyway......GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO PLAY! | ||

I like alot of people started my online poker play on this major site and fulltilt i am real dissapointed with the the sites free games the past 2 yrs. in fact i dont play much on either anymore as much as id like too.The fact is these huge freerolls r sick y would i want to sit down daily and play 10 or more thousand ppl online . its sad really , now im not saying i cant win but jeez i just dont have that much time. i got hooked in the day when it was 2500 max players winning a few bucks and turning it into 1200, i just dont see that happpining anymore. i unlike most ppl take pride in the money i make out of pennies and nothing but these sites just stloe the fun away in my eyes

I've only tried the freeroll trnys on PS, but i've never deposited any. But let me tell you those free trnys take forever. Once i played for 4 hours, but ended up not placing and I was pretty upset.

I do like the multi tables ones not the ones were they have garunteed tourenies,,, but the one with 90 or 180 players and the same to go quick enough so it actually enjoyable to me,, and i do like cash games from here and there... | ||

Prolly best to multi table the freerolls with a buy-in or cash table.
The good thing is on Pstars and FT, at any time of the day or night you'll pretty much find a mtt, sng or cash table playing any format of the game you like at a limit that suits your bankroll. |

I agree. I've played some sit'n'goes recently because I don't want to play too long and they offer a lot of variety of games. I really like games other than NLH and Stars have more of them. Also, when I feel like playing but more for fun .... I can play a 10 cent, or 50 cent SNG and not worry about playing stupid. LOL |

i had a little time went over ps havent looked at the site in awhile i like some of what i saw. i do like this americas cup games a grabbed a few rd two tickects fast so i guess ill try this points game tonight they have. i also like the 1 and 8 ffp satilites going on i think thats real cool so i ended up with some points and money for around 70th place guess ill try again in am |
