Should this go into the absolute poker truths thread.
Betting 25 x big blind is slow playing.

the early limp followed by a reraise is usually a sign of weakness and probably an attempt to steal the pot preflop

raising 250 preflop = slow play
I can't get what he made wrong with his Q9 off catching a miracle split pot

Even if you had slow played, I'd rather slow play Kings than aggressively play Q9 offsuit when I completely miss the flop.

Hi Mura
This guy was in my opinion trying to hit u with a crazy ( check , bluff raise, ) after he decided u would not have raised with 34 so put u on similar cards to him or that u hit a small pair and why would u want to go out so early, i suspect he plays these buy-ins a lot m8 and out of 10 tourneys he may well build a big stack early by hitting a second big card in 5 out of 10 of them, to him having 2 over cards on a low flop pays, the thing is 5 out of 10 times we all know it dose and he will hit his high card.Q
But Mura if after the flop when he checked i think u should have gone all-in, the out come in this hand would off been the same, but mostly 5 times he folds and u would have taken the 600 chips or 5 out of 10 times u would of put him out. (there is a chance of AA or the straight but that's poker)
Its either that or when u slow play just call and check, give him nothing to think about but the fact that your play is as he is doing, u then have the option if u want to lay down the cards at little cost.

Mura i cant believe you slowplayed so bad
You should know by now WHOVER GOES ALL IN FIRST CANT LOSE during the first hour of any online poker game
You were damn lucky to split - you should have lost it all with that careless weak betting

i dont remember my thinking in this hand much (if at all i was thinking )
i really posted the hand because of his comment of slowplaying, because i dont really think i was slowplaying it. ok i did limp, but only for a reraise since i knew i had some aggressive players on the table left to act and this being a rebuy tourney.
another comment i forgot to add yesterday was the reply from another player at the table | Quote: | | "if that is slowplay, i dont want to see him play fast" |
since i didnt post it as a bad beat i wasnt prepared to get some analysis on how i played the hand.
but considering my hand and the flop, he had about what i thought he would have, 2 overcards. i Was a bit concerned that he might have a lower ppair that hit set on the flop. 2 pair and straight didnt worry me much considering preflp action, overpair was more likely than that and i would probably have that covered as well. flushdraw was also something going through my head, but it was a insta call to his check all in. if he would have me beat i was planning on rebuying anyway
i will have to read through your post again to get a better reply to your thinking process and see what i agree with and not :p just wanted to get this down first..
thanks for the input tho!

Hi Mura ( u misunderstood me)
i was not trying to analyze your play i was offering a different way of playing this hand,
and all i meant was that he figured u would fold after his check raise to all-in(even though he had mist the flop) because he thought u would not of raised his $90 with 34 pre flop.(and he is probably right)
any cards over the T will catch a raise in these type of games (after that flop,) and more likely to be over cards than small pockets
in these types of games slow playing is any bet less than all-in when u have pocket Ks post flop.
So i stand by my first thought with pocket ks post flop and he checks iam all-in or slow play and follow him then take him on the turn
