The reason he didn't re-pop it was because he thought I may be holding

I've been on the losing low end of a straight flush before, & even though it is possible, it is so unlikely that it's an insta all in holding his hand, imo, you can't worry when you have a monster hand that it's beaten, monsters like that just don't happen very often...mind you, i think a 6 high flush draw, gutshot straight draw was foldable by him on the turn, hitting that 1 outter to the nuts, he got way more than lucky on ya...

Another bad beat!

Looks like he had a two outer, didn't he? 4 of clubs or 9 of clubs gives him straight flush I believe.

So that is about a 4% chance of getting beat there.

Of course you had to bet your hand because you never assume someone would get so lucky as to get straight flush.

Hard to believe anyone wouldn't keep raising with a straight flush, even if it isn't the stone cold nuts.  And you might decide just to call at some point, but it seems pretty unlikely you'd ever fold.

So it's bad luck he hit his two outer, but also good luck he didn't want to take any more of your money.
