Movie Talk ....what'ya just seen !

Well i just watched the chuckle fest that is "Blades Of Glory" - get's the harry thumbs up, excellent holiday fun and Will Farrell to boot.

Watched the latest Rodregez movie "Planet Terror" which is part of the GrindHouse double bill with Taratino's "Death Proof". I'm a huge cult movie fan and i loved "Planet Terror", it's a blast, but i think Quentin really missed the point on his effort.

Two more recent films for me were "Children Of Men" and "Sunshine". Both sci-fi movies with a brain and again i would highly recommend everyone seeing both if you have a chance. Some really good British movie making here.

I posted this because i just happen to have watched a run of really good films lately (which isn't often the case), it's a genre i love and i thought it might be nice to start a little thread on what ever you've just seen - good or bad, old or new ....doesn't matter.

I just saw transformers the other day, and it was a really good movie even though it might sound a little cheesey!

We don't go out to the movies often as we have the full sky package, and so wait for six months until they show them.

We have a ginormous telly... I turn lights down low... turn volume up and have Tracey parade around in her usherette uniform.

Favorite films are still some of the older ones. Aliens, :bonedemon: Terminator 1,2,or 3,

and Debbie does Dallas.

Hot Fuzz

For anyone that enjoyed the delights of "Shaun Of The Dead", this ones an absolute must. Basically like The Bill (a British cop show) meets Miami Vice, there are some truely laugh out loud moments and a completely gonzoid last half hour.

I see Indiana Jones last week.

It was good, at least was better than i think, with Ford so old i think they will put him aside like Connery before, an focus in a new guy or something, but no. The action and effects are great, i believe that is the best so far.

History was.... well, like all indiana movies, unreal, but was ok.

If you want a good comedy watch Wild Hogs. Hilarious. My husband hates comedies and he watched it twice and laughed himself silly.

Last Week Watch Hancock.

Well, it was like a Drunk Superman with Amnesia, some times the movie is like too much, but was fun.

I like the look of Hancock......super hero with a twist. Nice to know its as good as I imagine.

Over here they are raving about the new Batman movie because of Heath Ledgers performance. Anyone seen it yet?

Watched "In Bruges" last night. A darkly humerous movie about a couple of hit men. Stars Colin Farrel and Ralph Fiennes, well worth a watch.

Hmmmmm,

I must have been in bed and have not seen this film at all so let me hazard a guess why you like it.....

its got a good plot

the acting is superb

the direction was sublime, the production brilliant

or

perhaps, maybe......just maybe.......

it had some naked ladies in it

Went to the cinema last week to see MAMA MIA - really loved it - but got to admit it is a bit of a "Chick flick"

and obviously you gotta love ABBA music.
I'd rate it at 8/10 for the sheer enhusiasm of the cast which was infectious.

I haven't seen MAMA MIA yet. I admire Meryl Streep as an actress however she is 60 years old and the part was written for a 40 year old woman. It's just a bit of a stretch I think.

Took my granddaughter aged 13+ to the movies last week to see The Dark Knight, the latest Batman movie.

She said it was the best film she had ever seen and rated it as a 10/10 - I was not as impressed and gave it a 7.

Anyone else seen it yet?
